Start -> -> OnGuard 7.4-> System Administration -> Test the correctness of your installation, your ability to login, and your ability to administer all the access segments that you should be able to administer:

Hit 'Start' button within Setup Assistant.

Under the 'System DSN' tab, select the lenel ODBC entry.

Microsoft Windows 7, 8.x, and 10 64-bit:.

Launch the Microsoft ODBC Administrator.

You will run it manually at a later time. It actually gathers some information before it launches. This may take a few minutes to appear depending on the system.

The 'Setup Assistant' dialogue appears.

The amount of time depends on your system. Expect to wait for a long period of time.

Set Provide the location of your database and provide the database login user = LENEL -> Next.

Set Provide the location of your license server = bestlock.

Set 'Select the computer which is the licensing host' -> Cancel (this dialogue box may appear behind the installation window).

Set database = Oracle Server (Manual) -> Next.

Select Client System button installation.

Select 'Accept' radio button for the license agreement screen -> Next.

It will begin OnGuard required packages per your PC's configuration.

Right click on setup.exe and choose 'Run as administrator'.

Insert the OnGuard Installation Disk (Disk 1) or copy the disk contents to your hard drive.

Select 'Append these DNS suffixes (in order)' and add to the top of the DNS search path. Start -> Control Panel -> Network and Sharing Center -> Local Area Connection -> Properties -> TCP/IPv4 Properties -> Advanced -> DNS

Edit your Local Area Network Connections' TCP/IP properties:.

Your workstation's DNS search path must include and MUST be listed first. The test connection will FAIL with an 'Invalid username/password' error.

Set 'Would you like to test the connection' = Yes -> Next.

Set 'Use the standard port number of 1521' -> Next.

Select Local Net Service Name configuration -> Next -> Add -> Next.

Start -> Oracle -> Configuration and Migration Tools -> Net Configuration Assistant

Run Oracle Net Configuration Assistant.

Accept remaining installation default values.

Set 'What type of installation do you want?' = Administrator.

We highly recommend Oracle 12.2c 32-bit (NOT 12.1c) for any Windows OS: Operating System OnGuard will work with 11.2g 32-bit but only with Windows 7 and 8.x. From CIT's secure Oracle Client download directory, download the Oracle 32-bit Client (not the Instant Client) that's most appropriate for your operating system. If not already installed, clink the link to install: If your workstation is not configured to AutoRun DVDs on insertion, run the runme.exe executable located on the disk to launch the main menu. Insert the OnGuard Supplemental Materials DVD (Disk 2).

You first need to install prerequisite applications (which may already exist on your workstation).

Turn off User Account Control (UAC): Control Panel -> Action Center -> Change User Account Control Settings and scroll bar down to the bottom (Never Notify).

Authorization from your department head naming you as a departmental OnGuard administrator.

Make sure the system is clean, secure, and patched with the latest updates and security fixes. CSE verified that the OnGuard client works on this OS. The OnGuard client only runs on certain versions of Microsoft Windows:
